Promotion of Kenya’s entry into Kenya through Investment Pact between Kenya and Japan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will enter into an investment treaty incorporating provisions to protect Japanese companies entering Kenya on 14th September 2017.

This agreement provides for dispute proceedings in cases where a Japanese company suffers a disadvantage due to a sudden institutional change of the Kenyan government. In addition, we also prohibit the use of land without compensation.

In Kenya, cars, construction, food manufacturers, etc. are currently developing businesses. The entry into force of this agreement aims to further advance Japanese companies.
